Your thoughts create your reality. If you’re constantly thinking negatively you will only attract more negative things into your life. However, there is something you can do to reverse this! In this blog post, I will share with you 20 powerful shifting affirmations to easily shift your thoughts and beliefs onto the positive. By doing this you will have a confident, vibrant, and abundant life.
What are affirmations?
Affirmations are short powerful words or phrases which are said multiple times to AFFIRM, a single positive thought about yourself. In other words, it is like having a healthy and positive conversation with yourself. Affirmations are used to reverse negative auras. According to the National Science Foundation, an average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day, of those 80% are negative. The affirmation words/sentences aim to affect the conscious and the subconscious mind by shifting you into your desired reality. By reciting affirmations your mind will automatically and involuntarily bring up related mental images to the mind, which will motivate and inspire you.
Without further ado, here are my 20 powerful shifting affirmations:
- Peace begins with me.
- I believe in myself and I will succeed in this life.
- Everything is happening for me, NOT to me.
- I am full of potential.
- The universe has my best interests.
- I welcome abundance and positivity in my life.
- Everything I am looking for I can find within me.

- I am confident in my ability to shift.
- I am more than enough.
- My body is healthy and beautiful.
- I trust the universe to guide me and protect me.
- I hold the keys to my destiny.
- Beauty is in everything.
- I choose happiness and happiness is choosing me.
- I am worthy of all the good things life has to offer.
- My shifting process will go smoothly and effectively.
- I am happy to be in my desired reality.
- I am taking one step towards shifting to my desired reality.
How to use these powerful shifting affirmations?
To make these shifting affirmations work effectively you not only have to recite them, but you also have to feel and believe them in your heart and soul. It might be hard at first, but the more you do them, the easier it will become. Also, make sure you’re saying these shifting affirmations with confidence and determination. You can even go the extra mile by reciting them out loud!
The key is also to be consistent, make them a habit by including shifting affirmations in your morning and night routine. I recommend saying your affirmations 2x a day. For starters try committing to doing them for at least 30 days, no matter what. Consistency will overall give you focus to create these new beliefs while overtaking any negative ones. Another great tip is to close your eyes and imagine a situation where you’re already doing or have what you desire. The more emotion you put into the affirmations, the faster you will draw it to you. Be sure to also take it slow and take your time. Be aware of how you feel after saying them and see how you feel differently about yourself. Remember to be persistent and let yourself free of any expectations. Affirmations take time and what you desire won’t happen overnight, however you will immediately notice a change in your mood.

Many people think that affirmations are silly and nonsense because it didn’t necessarily work for them. Before starting to practice, these powerful shifting affirmations make sure you truly believe in the power of them. For many people, affirmations don’t work for them because they’re in deep conflict with their internal negative feelings. These people usually suffer from severe low self-esteem, anxiety, self-doubt or depression. Therefore, stating these powerful positive statements only made them feel worse about themselves. With that being said, it’s extremely important to only practice affirmations when your mind is already in a positive state, that way your statements will be more compatible with your belief system in place. Lastly, make sure your affirmations are written and said with a clear and practical purpose. Focus on what you want to achieve rather than what you don’t want or what you want to move away from.
Shifting affirmations are powerful tools to help you enhance your mood, habits, and energy. They require practice and persistence to be effective, so don’t give up! If you’re having trouble getting into a positive state of mind, I recommend listening to a guided meditation or even relaxing music.
