Self-Care Sunday Ideas: 50 Ways to do Self-Care

Self-Care Sunday Ideas

In my last blog post What Does Self-Care Mean, I highlighted the importance of self-care and how it’s a great idea to dedicate a specific day of the week to self-care. In this post, I will share with you 50 Self-Care Sunday Ideas that will easily help you build a self-care routine. Having a day dedicated to self-care can help you get into a routine that you can easily do on a weekly basis. For me, the perfect day of the week for self-care would be Sunday! When you think about it Sundays are basically “pre-Mondays”. I used to dread Mondays, but when you think about it Mondays are actually an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and have a fresh start full of new beginnings.

Sundays are already a day of the week that we use to wind down, get some rest, and spend time with loved ones. Therefore, what better day than to take care of yourself for the upcoming brand new week than on Sundays? Doing self-care on Sundays will not only put you in a good positive mood, but it will also enhance the way you mentally start off the new week. Sundays should be sacred and should be reserved for rejuvenating, healing, and empowering yourself mentally and physically.

How Self-Care Sundays Can Help You:

  • Healthier lifestyle
  • Better work-life balance
  • Feel healthy inside & out
  • Increase your motivation
  • Reduce burnout and stress
  • Improves your mental health
  • Boost your mood going into the new week

What Self-Care Is & Isn’t:

Let me start off by saying that self-care isn’t selfish. Taking care of yourself allows you to take care of everything else. We have to be able to fill our own cup first before we can give it to others. Self-care also isn’t an excuse to continue bad habits. Although self-care is all about finding balance and can even encourage you to have a diet cheat day. If a habit is affecting you negatively and even affecting the people who care about you, don’t use self-care as an excuse to justify it. Lastly, self-care is NOT a waste of time, self-care is all about maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself by taking care of your mind, soul, and body. Practicing self-care enhances your ability to live fully, vibrantly, and effectively!

Night Self-Care Routine

My Ideal Self-Care Sunday:

My perfect self-care Sunday is being able to take care of my skin, hair, body, and most importantly spending time with loved ones! I love to start off my day with a glass of water and a healthy breakfast involving lots of fruits. My ideal self-care Sundays also involves me getting a quick workout in or some light yoga stretches. Living in Florida, the days get pretty hot! So I also enjoy going to either the pool or the beach, whenever possible to cool down and relax. When night-time hits, I like to wind down by getting into my comfiest PJs and watching my favorite Netflix baking/cooking shows (somehow seeing people bake and cook relaxes me, I know it’s weird!). Lastly, I finish my self-care Sunday by dimming my bedroom lights and falling asleep to relaxing music.

My Self-Care Sunday Must Haves:

  • Spending time with loved ones
  • Face Masks
  • Plenty of sleep! (Because I love to sleep and sleep is sacred to me).
  • Making a healthy & yummy breakfast!
  • Decluttering my bedroom
  • Relaxing music
  • Netflix
  • Yoga and light stretches
